Veterinary Assisting
Introduction:
Veterinary Assistants and Laboratory Animal – The students will be able to define veterinary science, the socioeconomic role of veterinary science, human-animal bond and its effects on human health. Students will learn safety skills, restrain and control companion and livestock animals. The students will learn how to deal with animals, understand procedures and regulations of animal laws in the state of Florida.
Veterinary Assistants and Laboratory Animal – The students will be able to define animal welfare and animal rights, explain the differences between animal welfare and animal rights, identify animal welfare and animal rights advocate groups, debate current events concerning animal welfare and animal rights, explain the role of animals in research.
Veterinary Assistant – This course is designed to develop competencies in areas such as the history of the animal industry; applied scientific and technological concepts; safety; terminology; careers; breed identification; animal care and human relation skills. The students will be able to pursue different careers within the veterinary for individuals in this area.

- Caretakers 1- Total 450 Hours
- Caretakers 1- Total 150 Hours
- Veterinary Assistant- Total 150 Hours
